今日は日本語補修校の運動会。丘の上にある中学校を借りてやったので、朝は霧がひどくこんな感じ。これは開会式。The Japanese school had a field day today. We borrowed the field of a middle school on a hill, and it was really foggy in the morning. This is a beginning ceremony.
徒競走。結果は。。。50 m run.
綱引き。全校生徒400人以上が紅白に分かれて引っ張った！Tug of war. 200 students on one side and another 200 on the other.
私たちにとってこういう本格的な「学校の運動会」というのは初めての経験。お弁当も力を入れました。どうだ！"Japanese" field day of this sort is a first experience for our family. I worked hard on the lunch box, since it is customary in Japan to have this kind of lunch for this kind of occasion.
本当に日本の運動会みたい！こういう経験ができるとは思っていなかったので、うれしかったよ。昼前にはまったくのカリフォルニア晴れに変わり、超暑い！！We had sun by late morning as usual, and we had lunch under the California sun. It was very hot!!! Next year, we will make sure to bring a beach parasol.
