We did not have any specific plan for today, but one of our son's friend's family invited us over for a party, so we went. We had potluck dinner and enjoyed the public fireworks just sitting outside the garage.

How nice is it you just go out the garage and see those fireworks? No hassle, no crowds....

Kids knew each other, but we met most of the parents the first time. We lived in the US for 14, 15 years, but we never met these kind people like those we met today. They speak native English AND native Japanese. Nothing new so far... but today's people, you find them speaking in English and an instant later the switch to Japanese. They start one sentence in Japanese and ends it in English. They use two languages almost interchangeably. They are not Japanese Americans (Actually most of the Japanese Americans in our generations do not speak Japanese). They do not feel, look, nor smell like Japanese, either. They actually go by their English names. From what I collected during the conversation, it seems like they either got educated in international schools in Japan and/or came to the states when very young to live. It's Los Angeles. We have all kids of races and all kids of people. It was a nice findings for the Independence Day.
