息子が毎日バンドに持っていく楽器を紹介します。こちらは1時間目のビギナーズ・バンド用のベルキット。ザイロフォン（金属の木琴）とドラムパッドとスタンドとスティックと楽譜たてが入ったセット。これを持って学校に行ってまた持って帰ってくる。There are the instruments my son takes to school for band classes everyday. This one above is called a bell kit. It has Xylophone, a drum pad, sticks, a stand and score sheet holder.
こちらは3時間目（２時間目は関係ない授業）のジャズバンド用のギター。ジャスバンドのほうが本命であります。木曜日のオーディションがあり、うまくいったら正式に入隊できるけど、ちっとも練習してないよ。日本だと楽器は学校のものを使わせてくれたりするけど、このあたりは全部自前。ベルキットは200ドルで買いました。ジャスバンドも入隊できたら、もっといいギターを買うように先生に言われています。1000ドルくらいかなあ。案外お金がかかります。でもフレンチホーンとかだと4000ドルぐらいだというので、それよりはいいけど。。。This one is his guitar for jazz band. Jazz band is what he really wants to do. He is going to have an audition which he needs to pass to be officially admitted into the band. I've been telling him to practice, but he keeps procrastinating. Students are supposed to have their own instruments. We paid $200 for the bell kit, and if he passes the jazz band audition, he was told by his teacher to get a "better" guitar (the one he has been using is a very beginner one). Bands could be pretty expensive. Probably we are much better off compared to someone who does, say, a french horn, which runs up to $4,000 if you but it.
