お友達に誘ってもらって、フラダンスで神様を賛美するというパフォーマンスを見に行きました。クリスチャンでハワイアンな夕べでした。夕食付き。One of my friends asked me to see this Hawaiian performance of hula worship. It came with dinner.
フランクさんと。彼はハワイ生まれの日系2世。ハワイ語と日本語と英語がまざった環境で育ったんだって。とってもかわいいおじいちゃんです。This gentleman is the second generation Japanese, born in Hawaii. According to him, he speaks a mix of Hawaiian, English and Japanese. He was an adorable person.
入場料10ドルでディナー付き。一番下のはスパム巻き。スパムというハムを特性の型に入れて海苔と一緒に巻きます。ハワイが発祥の地。カリフォルニアに来てからスパム巻きは本当に頻繁に食べるようになりました。Here is the dinner plate. The black one at the bottom is a Spam roll. They sell so-called Spam roll maker for this. I get to eat this so often here in California.
フラダンスの賛美はとても美しかったよ。手の動きが本当にきれい！ダンスしている人も見ている人もいろんな人がいました。不動産はまだ高いし、失業率は高いし、あんまりいいことのないカリフォルニアだけど、ここに引っ越してきて一番いいなと思うのはなんといっても多様性。いろんな文化が混ざっていろんな人がいるのが楽しいです。日本の血を引いている人のなかにも本当にさまざまな人がいるんだなと思います。なんでもありというのがなんだかとってもラク。Those hula worships were so graceful. The way they move their hands and arms were so healing. There was such a great diversity among the dancers and the audience equally. I truly enjoy this diversity. There is such a wide variety of races, cultures and mixture of those. It is so fun and even comforting to know anything goes.
