When my husband was leaving for the nearby Japanese grocery to pick up some beer, I asked him to get a dish detergent and plastic wrap, too. He came home with these Japanese products. I was shocked to see the prices on the receipt. The detergent was $7 and the wrap was $5. You can get the American alternative probably for $2 each! Anyway, this detergent is named "Mama Lemon." It has a scent of lemon as you can easily guess, but "mama" part could be controversial. This product has been on the market probably for 30 years now, and back them those who did dishes were mainly moms. But now, the target consumers are much more diverse, double income families, people who never marry, married women without kids, single fathers... After all, I was deeply impressed that they decided to stick with the original naming all these years.
