Our son restarted with Judo. Back in Virginia, everybody other than me (two kids and daddy) were enjoying Judo together. Our daughter is now into swimming, so she is taking a break from Judo. My husband is eager to restart but when he took a look at the adult class, he had a second thought. Almost everybody wears wearing black belts or brown belts, and he is sort of scared off. So only our son goes twice a week. It's called South Bay Judo. They get support from the city of Torrance and close to 40 local businesses, which are not necessarily Japanese or Asia related, and involves ordinary local grocery stores like Albertsons, Sam's Club, Ralphs etc. and pizza restaurants.
Torrance has 29 parks throughout the city and one of them is Wilson Park in the picture. We meet in a sport complex in this park.
This is the sport complex. We use one of the rooms, which is multi-purpose space, and thus they need to put the tatami mats down on the floor before each practice and put them away after it.
With the tatami mats, we have a nice looking dojo. There are many senseis with black belts, and they teach in small groups.
