I participated in a mission gathering at Gospel Venture International Church, where all the Japanese churches around this area (in South Bay) joined together. In the picture is the host pastor Rev. Maehara and his wife. He was a business consultant before he became a pastor. He bought this building which used to be a bakery to start his own church. I am yet to be baptised, so I was rather hesitant to go, thinking that a mission gathering might be a little too advanced for me, but I came home so blessed. The message was that you do not have to work hard on it. You only have to admit that you are so unworthy and weak full of sins. When you die in yourself and leave yourself to God, He will use you and make everything possible through you. In the bible, it says, "For when I am weak, then I am strong (Corinthian II 12:10)". A church is where an adult male can not only admit that he is so weak, but also that he can be proud of that. What a blessing!
