中学校でとっていたサマーバンドのクラスも今日で終わり（ホントはあと一週間あるけれど、彼は日本に帰るので今週でおしまい）。秋からのジャズバンドに正式に入隊するためのオーディションがありました。結果は無事合格。楽譜を読むのも少しずつ慣れました。即興もあったけど、案外得意みたい。本格的に活動しだすと、学校関連のイベントやコンサートのほか、結婚式で雇われバンドとして演奏したりもするらしい。これからの活動が楽しみです。本人はいいギターを買えるので楽しみにしています。（先生からいいギターを買うよう申し付かって本人はホクホク。親はヘナヘナ。）Today was his last day of the summer band camp at the middle school. He had the audition for Fall Jazz band, and he passed it. Yeah! A part of the audition was improvisation, but he was pretty good at it, it seems. His sight reading has been improving, too. The band will be performing in school related events and concerts, and on top of that they will be hired for wedding and other ceremonies, I heard. The teacher strongly recommended he gets new better (translation; more expensive) guitar, and he is so happy with it, since he had been trying to persuade us parents how he deserves a better guitar. Coming out of the teacher's mouth, we probaly need to listen to it.
