School supplies - Japanese version

My husband and daughter will go back to Japan soon. He will be working in Tokyo, while she will be staying with her grandparents and go to a local elementary school. We never thought of sending her alone to school in Japan a year ago, but she has grown a lot during the past year. She and I went shopping (back-to-school shopping, Japanese version) today. We bought a shitajiki (a plastic sheet that you stick under the notebook page you are writing on, so that you do not leave marks on pages underneath. Japanese are neat people...), a pen case, gym shoes (they are supposed to have three pairs for school life; one for commuting and playing outside, another for inside school buildings, and another for PE inside gym), and a tooth brush with a cup (They brush their teeth after lunch). Nice thing is that she can bring over her textbook she is using now at the Japanese School here. It's a mixed feeling of excitement and nervousness we are experiencing...
