ゴスペル・ベンチャー・インターナショナル・チャーチというところで、このあたり（サウスベイ地域）の日本語教会の合同伝道集会があり参加しました。写真はホストの前原牧師夫妻。経営コンサルトから牧師になった方だそうで、この建物ももともとはパン屋さんだった建物を買い取り、教会として使っているそうです。洗礼もまだこれからという私なので、伝道なんてまだちょっと~と、二の足を踏む気持ちで行ったのですが、それはそれはすばらしい集会でした。「自分ががんばる必要はない。オレはどうしようもない（罪だらけの）人間だけれど、だからこそ自分に死んで、すべてをゆだねたときにこそ、神様は私を用いてすべてを行ってくださる。そうすれば、必ず周りの人はあなたの人となり、生き方からその良さを見て取るものだ。」というのがメッセージ。聖書にも「なぜなら、私が弱いときにこそ、私は強いからです（コリントII12:10)」と書いてある。大の男が、「オレはどうしようもない人間だ」と認め、しかもそれを誇れるところが教会です。I participated in a mission gathering at Gospel Venture International Church, where all the Japanese churches around this area (in South Bay) joined together. In the picture is the host pastor Rev. Maehara and his wife. He was a business consultant before he became a pastor. He bought this building which used to be a bakery to start his own church. I am yet to be baptised, so I was rather hesitant to go, thinking that a mission gathering might be a little too advanced for me, but I came home so blessed. The message was that you do not have to work hard on it. You only have to admit that you are so unworthy and weak full of sins. When you die in yourself and leave yourself to God, He will use you and make everything possible through you. In the bible, it says, "For when I am weak, then I am strong (Corinthian II 12:10)". A church is where an adult male can not only admit that he is so weak, but also that he can be proud of that. What a blessing!
